Eggleston Services has been dedicated to providing a broad array of programs and services for individuals with disabilities since 1955

Our goal is to assist people in obtaining meaningful work opportunities, and to help them participate fully in their communities. We help individuals with disabilities gain freedom from dependence on government support by providing them on-the-job training and stable work opportunities.

When Eggleston Services opened in 1955 as the Tidewater Vocational Center, we served only five individuals with disabilities. Today, we serve hundreds, and our services continue to expand every year. Over the past several decades, we have expanded our services through partnerships with local businesses and government institutions, offering our participants the chance to earn a living and lead full and independent lives.

Our mission "Creating Education, Training and Employment Opportunities" is a statement of purpose, which guides the actions of the Eggleston family.

Our volunteer Board of Directors sets the course for the organization and over the years has continued to address the diverse needs of persons with disabilities within the Hampton Roads community. The roots of Eggleston Services are firmly planted in the concept of "empowerment through employment" and the recognition that economic success will help persons with disabilities enjoy a higher quality of life.

For many of the individuals associated with Eggleston Services, work opportunities are what they value most. Others receive much needed help from our residential and day support services at facilities in Norfolk, Chesapeake and Hampton. All in all, Eggleston operates roughly 25 programs over 12 locations.

We have developed numerous partnerships within the community, and these partnerships have allowed our services to expand and diversify.

One of our greatest assets is a dedicated staff and employees providing consistently high quality services and bringing to life daily, the mission of Eggleston Services.

Community support is also crucial to our success. Individuals in Hampton Roads help Eggleston by providing cash donations, or by donating an unwanted vehicle. Area businesses use Eggleston to provide valuable services such as business fulfillment, landscaping services, mailing and packaging services, as well as secure document destruction.
